My sound project, done by myself and Mariano Berdon, told the story of a group of fishermen who's boat tragically drowned after being caught in a bad storm at sea. We told this story through a series of sounds that we both found online and created on our own.
The foley sounds we created came from a variety of trials to see what would sound most like what we are trying to recreate. For example, I tested out chopping various things in my fridge to sound the most like I was chopping up bait at sea, and chopping up a cheese stick worked best.
We also found various sounds through YouTube that sounded the most natural, and layered them on top of each other to create a realistic effect of what you would hear on a fisherman's boat. When parts started to sound too bare, we would add more factors into the audio, such as ice buckets for the fish.
