Music Marketing Blog Post #2

Throughout the process of creating the brand and image for our new band, we made multiple social media accounts on almost every platform, because we recognize how much that thrives and boosts our group in today's society. Our Twitter feed includes "relatable" heartbreak posts that not only showcases our brand, but connects with our audience. Within our music video, we continued these themes of heartbreak and love by creating a story about a guy who got put under a love spell, which is a great introduction to our band and what they are about.

The filming process took the longest because of how particular we were with our shots. For example, filming the love potion process was not easy because we were worried it was unclear what the girl in the video was doing. Therefore, we tried out multiple different angles and lighting before being satisfied. This taught us about how much work really goes into production and making a quality product.

Our logo, merch, and presentation, has a specific color scheme of red, black, and a little white. These are the colors that go along best with our image and what we are trying to put out there. We also met at Town center towards the end of the project to get some pictures of our band doing different activities related to their new music. For example "walking to their next performance" or "setting up stage for the next concert". Fans enjoy seeing the behind the scenes of their favorite bands or artists work, so we thought this would be good to include in our social media.

Overall, this project really helped me learn to work with a group and how we can all contribute our different strengths into a piece of work. For example, Vanessa was very good with creating logos and graphic designs, so we let her design the PowerPoint and merch. Zain has a lot of experience in editing, so she edited the majority of the music video. As for the pictures and music video, I really enjoy set design and the creativity aspect of it, so I came up with the different shots and angles that would look best and would represent our brand. This will obviously be helpful when it comes to the end of year Cambridge exam, because we will have to make a film opening where all of these skills can come into play to make one final, successful product.
